Sunrover Expeditions - Fraser Island - Walkabout Eco Adventure

Day 1

Your adventure begins by departing Brisbane and traveling along the Queensland Coast via Noosa.

Continue along the coast to the seaside town of Rainbow Beach and encounter the Cherry Venture Shipwreck as well as the rainbow coloured sands.

Relax, have a swim and enjoy lunch at Rainbow Beach before taking a short 15 minute barge crossing to Fraser Island.

Once on Fraser Island the tour makes it's way along Seventy Five Mile Beach to Govi Creek and Dilli Beach, your forest campsite.  Spend the afternoon relaxing or stroll along the beach before dining under the stars on BBQ fish for dinner.

Day 2

Your second day begins with a delicious breakfast before hiking to the near by Lake Boomanjin which is the world's largest perched lake.  From here take a relaxing journey via 4WD coach to Lake Birrabeen where you can swim and explore the area.  Lake McKenzie is next on the itinerary for lunch and a swim before continuing on to Lake Wabby and Hammerstone Sandblow.

Day 3

Four wheel drive along Seventy Five Mile Beach to the fast flowing, freshwater Eli Creek before inspecting the rusted remains of the Maheno Shipwreck.  Journey through the rainforest to Lake Allom the home of the freshwater tortoise, then visit the coloured sands.  That afternoon either explore the Dundubara Campsite or hike to Wungal Sandblow as well as fishing and a campfire dinner.

Day 4

Explore the northern parts of the island and hike to the top of Indian Head to take in the stunning, panoramic views and watch the sharks feeding in the ocean below.  Continue on to the Champagne Pools, a gorgeous collection of rock pools by the ocean where you can go for a swim.  That afternoon head further north to Waddy Point and Ocean Lake.
